My name is Steve Donovan and I want to help play a larger role for you.

About Steve

I’ve never been a politician—but I’ve always shown up when my community needs me. Over the years, I’ve worked with county and village governments on issues that matter, and each experience has shown me that real change starts locally. Every vote, rally, and event helps us stay connected and evolve together.

I live in the village of New Glarus with my partner, Sarah. My kids, Fran and Ian, are both pursuing their post-secondary education while living on Madison’s East Side. We love calling New Glarus home.

As a freelance video professional, I understand the challenges and strengths of small businesses. My years of service on nonprofit boards have taught me what it takes to lead with compassion, listen with intent, and plan for the long-term needs of a community.

In my downtime, you’ll find me running, watching the Brewers win, exploring southern Wisconsin with Sarah, or catching up with friends.

My Values

Transparency

Being out at events and connecting with my district are important. The only way you can genuinely represent people is when you are engaged with all the voters.

Innovation

Looking for new ways to connect our community is innovative. Technology and new ideas are important to keeping a more rural area like ours connected.

Compassion

The best lessons I’ve learned have come from listening. Compassion can come from understanding what you need. Listening is a superpower that can help improve our communities.

Respect

Every person deserves basic rights enshrined by our morals and government. My work should reflect the needs of the community, without judgement.
